Most of us who deal with anxiety are energetically sensitive and at times our sensitivity may seem like a hardship. The truth is our sensitivity is a gift. We just have to learn how to protect it. Our sensitivity, especially now, requires us to protect our energy consistently and ritualistically. These 5 tools will help you to protect your energy.

 1.      Angelic Energy Protection

Inviting the angels to protect you and your energy filters the uncomfortable energy around while still allowing the positive to come through. When we feel like we have to do it all on our own, we usually end up blocking both positive and negative energy. The truth is, we don’t have to do it on our own. We can invite our angels loving support.

Archangel Michael is a powerful angel who will fiercely and loyally protect you and your energy. Praying to him daily for support will also help you detach from any dramas in your life so that you can focus on yourself and heal. It’s important to separate from these dramas because they fuel the adrenaline in our bodies that results in a weakened immune system and frayed nervous system.

2.      Grounding

 

Grounding brings your energy back into yourself and anchors it in your body so that you are better equipped to handle challenging situations. When you are grounded and centered you will be less reactive. There are many ways to ground yourself, but the key is to be consistent and do it daily. Here is a list of some grounding techniques.

a.       Walk barefoot on the earth.

b.      Garden or plant something.

c.       Hug a tree.

d.      Walk in nature.

e.       Listen to music.

f.        Take a bath in sea salts.

3.      Crystals and Organites

These are both wonderful resources we can use to protect our energy. Having crystals physically on you protects your energy when you leave your home.  You can wear them as a necklace, place them in your pockets, carry some in your bag, and have some in your office and car. At home, place crystals and organites by your bed and in the different rooms in your house to clear, protect, and balance the energy throughout your house.

4.      Self-Awareness

Most of the time we feel anxiety, fear, or any other uncomfortable feeling, it is not ours. As energetically sensitive beings, we easily absorb other people’s feelings and emotions like a sponge. When you are feeling uncomfortable or anxious, I recommend reminding your angels that you only want to feel what is yours. I have found this declaration to be very effective. Most of the time the feelings subside.

If these feelings don’t abate and they are your own, that’s OK. Having uncomfortable, strong, and sometimes anxious feelings is normal. Try to recognize and honor your feelings without judgement. 5.      Self-Care

This is the most important energy protection technique and for many people it’s the hardest to learn. Most of us aren’t taught as children about self-care that feeds, heals and fills up our hearts and souls. Self-care is an aspect of self-love. Many of the grounding techniques I listed above are also self-care. Additionally, self-care means creating fierce loving boundaries in your life. This is not selfish! Boundaries are necessary to heal anxiety. They ensure that your needs are a priority and are being met. Self-care is also about spending time every day doing something you love. It can be going for hike, painting, or even playing with your dog. As long as you enjoy doing it and it brings you joy. Spending time bringing more joy into your life lifts your soul, fills your heart, and repels any challenging energies around you.
